Information Technology Service Management Seminar

Information Technology Service Management Seminar

Our Senior Systems Engineer, Anne Rose Suriel, had the opportunity to be one of the speakers during the annual Information Technology Service Management Seminar of the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten, which took place on November 18th, 2014. Her presentation was entitled 'Configuration Management: Why we should care'.

Mrs. Suriel started her presentation with a short explanation of the framework used at CORE N.V. as an asset for better management of Information Technology, which is called ITIL. ITIL stands for Information Technology Infrastructure Library. Configuration Management is a process of ITIL. Furthermore Mrs. Suriel focused on the importance of Configuration Management.

Also Mrs. Suriel indicated various issues an organization will have to deal with when ignoring the importance and the proper use of Configuration Management. In the worst case organizations lose productivity due to, for example, replacement of components with a flawed new version and not being able to revert quickly to the prior or optimal working state. Or organizations simply replace the wrong component because it was not possible to determine with accuracy which component needed to be replaced. Thus we can safely conclude that Mrs. Suriel identified and convinced the audience that we should care about Configuration Management.

Additionally participants and visitors at the seminar had the opportunity to get to know CORE N.V. and speak to our representatives during this day at our booth.

We extend our gratitude to Mrs. R. Vos of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten for the assistance prior and during this wonderful experience. CORE N.V. continues its mission to increase general understanding of IT and its many advantages.
