How often should you change your password?

You should change your passwords every few months. This limits the time a stolen password is useful to a stealthy attacker and how long he or she has access to your account. Many security guidelines recommend frequent password changes of usually between 30 and 180 days. 

What is the right way to choose a strong password?
  1. Use a mix of alphabetical and numeric characters
  2. Use a mixture of upper- and lowercase; passwords are case sensitive
  3. Use symbols if the system allows
  4. Use a combination of letters and numbers, or a phrase like “many colors” using only the consonants (mnYc0l0rz) or a misspelled phrase (ItzAGurl)
How to synchronize your Windows password with your Lotus Notes password?
  1. Click File then Security then User Security
  2. (Macintosh OS X users: Lotus Notes then Security then User Security
  3. Click Security Basics
  4. Select or deselect Always set Domino Web/Internet password to match Lotus Notes password under Your Login and Password Settings. This option is only visible in User Security if your administrator has enabled your ability to synchronize your passwords.
  5. Re-authenticate with your Lotus Notes server to enable synchronization.
  6. Use your Lotus Notes password next time you login to a Web browser, Lotus Notes, or a Lotus Notes-based program.
How to change your Windows password?
  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE
  2. Click Change a password
  3. Type your old password and your new password
  4. Type your new password again to confirm it and then press Enter
How to reset your Lotus password?
  1. Click File then Security then User Security
  2. Enter your current password to proceed
  3. Click Change Password
  4. Enter your current password to proceed
  5. Enter and then reenter a new password
